Stunning Vibes, Average Flavours – An Honest Review of House of Boho in Ansal Plaza
If you’re someone who loves aesthetically pleasing cafés and Instagram-worthy spaces, House of Boho in Ansal Plaza, New Delhi will instantly catch your eye. Known for its bohemian charm, artistic décor, and relaxed vibe, this place has become a popular spot for brunches, evening hangouts, and photo sessions. I recently visited House of Boho with a friend, and while the ambiance completely won my heart, the food and drinks left me feeling a little underwhelmed.
Located at BG-07, Ansal Plaza, August Kranti Marg, House of Boho is easy to reach and offers plenty of paid parking (₹100 for open parking). Since there was no pre-booking, we had to pay the full cover amount upfront, which already made the experience feel slightly pricey before even ordering.
Ambiance: A Bohemian Dream
Let’s start with the highlight — the ambiance. House of Boho is a masterclass in bohemian design. From earthy tones and textured walls to artistic elements and warm lighting, every corner is thoughtfully designed. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it suitable for all group sizes.
One standout feature is the iconic Boho Girl, a visual representation of the café’s carefree, wanderlust-inspired personality. It truly captures the spirit of travel, freedom, and creativity — something lifestyle bloggers and Instagram lovers will absolutely adore.
It’s safe to say this is one of those places where you’ll click more photos than bites. If ambience were the only criteria, this place would easily score a perfect five.
Food Experience: Hits & Misses
Now coming to the food—this is where my experience became a bit mixed.
- Wok Tossed Paneer: This dish was decent and probably the better option of the two. The flavors were balanced, though nothing extraordinary. It worked as a safe choice but didn’t really stand out.
- Mac & Cheese Pasta: This was the biggest disappointment. I had requested mushrooms, which I later felt were either forgotten or barely acknowledged. While my friend managed to find 2–3 tiny mushroom pieces, the pasta overall tasted bland with almost zero flavor. For a comfort dish like mac & cheese, I expected richness and depth, which was sadly missing.
For a place known for its vibe and pricing, the flavors didn’t justify the cost.
Drinks: Not Worth the Price
When it comes to cocktails, expectations were high—but reality didn’t quite match up.
- Picante: Too salty and overly spicy, making it difficult to enjoy.
- Whiskey Sour: Slightly more manageable but still nothing memorable.
Overall, I felt the cocktails here are not value for money, especially considering the premium pricing. There are definitely better cocktail spots in Delhi that offer more balanced flavors at similar or even lower prices.
Service & Pricing
Service at House of Boho was noticeably slow, even though there wasn’t any waiting time for seating. Since there was no pre-booking, we ended up paying the full amount without any offers, which made the experience feel even more expensive.
The pricing overall felt on the higher side, especially when the food and drinks didn’t deliver on taste. While the ambience makes up for a lot, it still doesn’t fully justify the cost.
Vegetarian-Friendly & Practical Details
One thing I genuinely appreciated was their large vegetarian selection. Vegetarian dishes are clearly labeled, making it easy to choose. This place is definitely suitable for all group sizes, whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or even for a casual celebration.
Parking is convenient with plenty of open parking available, though it’s paid street parking and costs around ₹100.
Final Verdict
House of Boho is undoubtedly a visual delight. If you’re visiting purely for the vibes, photos, and ambiance, you’ll love it. However, when it comes to food and drinks, I personally feel there are better and more value-for-money options in Delhi.
My take: I absolutely loved the feel and vibe of the place, but I might not return specifically for food and drinks.
