We all love a good treat (cookies included! 🍪), but not all ingredients are created equal. 

At missbrowncookiee, we believe in transparency and fueling your body with the good stuff. Next time you’re browsing the aisles, turn that package around!

Here are 5 "hidden" ingredients that might be crashing your snack party:

1. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)
The master of disguise. It’s a cheap, highly processed sweetener linked to increased inflammation. If it’s near the top of the list, put it back on the shelf.

2. Hydrogenated Oils (Trans Fats)
Used to keep products shelf-stable for years, but they aren't so kind to your heart. Look for "partially hydrogenated" on the label—that’s code for trans fats you want to avoid.

3. Artificial Colors (Red 40, Yellow 5)
Often derived from petroleum, these are added just for "the look." They’ve been linked to hyperactivity and sensitivity in many people. Real food has real color! 🌈

4. Artificial Sweeteners (Aspartame, Sucralose)
"Zero Sugar" doesn't always mean "Healthy." These can mess with your gut microbiome and actually increase your cravings for more sweets later on.

5. Excessive Sodium
It’s not just in chips! Sodium is a major preservative in sweet baked goods too. High levels can lead to bloating and high blood pressure.
